Project 52 - Detail

This would appear to be a photo of a photo, but it is in fact an excellent example of Hyperrealism Art - this being by Tom Martin entitled 'First Night in New York' - amazing DETAIL of a bar in New York.

  1. Jossiemou, I am so happy you posted this picture. I had never heard of hyperealistic art and had to google it. I just could not believe what I was seeing. The one above is amazing and there is one of a lemon splashing in a glass and another of strawberries on silver foil that I couldn't take my eyes off. Above, I wonder how the color blue of the Bombay rum was replicated.
    Awesome.

  2. Like Kim, I had never heard of this form of art and I too googled it. Wow oh wow it is unbelievable. A comment on one of the sites was "You'll start doubting your eyes, then your brain, then these images." I have to agree. Our Project 52 is certainly opening our eyes to lots of new things. Wonderful.
Kim - do you have a weakness for Bombay Sapphire or is it just the colour? I agree with you how on earth were the different shades of blue replicated.

    1. No I have not sampled it either, but our younger son loves it. I love the colour too. It reminds me of a clear blue, sun lit sea.
