Its a bean that you slit down the center then scrape out the inside. You use it in place of vanilla extract. Today I made vanilla coffee creamer. You can use extract in place of a vanilla bean but there is no comparison. Next time I get them I will send you one :)
Love the contrast between the sharp clean knife, the goopy stuff on the end (I'm with Jan, something I've not experienced!)and then the board. Love the three materials, makes a clean simple statement.
I am almost afraid to say this but I have never seen that before. What do you do with it? I do love vanilla.
