Leading Lines

While in Ketchikan, our last Alaskan port, we visited a totem village.  This one claims to have the largest collection of standing totem poles.  They also had some carvings that were acting as a retaining wall, a very decorative one at that.  Frogs are associated with springtime and renewal to the Northwest Coast Native people.  In the Tlingit tribe, the frog is an important clan crest.
