Shallow depth of field

It has finally cooled off in San Diego.  We actually turned off the A/C and had the doors open.  Unfortunately, the open door let in visitors.  This guy was hanging out on my toaster.  Not sure if he thought dinner was going to pop out of it or if he was just enjoying his reflection.  Anyway, after posing for a few shots, my son helped him find his way back outside.

  3. How great to be able to get your little friend to sit on the toaster and to get his reflection. My, you must have had the camera to hand to snap this one. Great shot!

  9. I about jumped out of my skin when I saw it sitting there as I was reaching for a paper towel, which is on the wall above the toaster. He was perfectly content to wait while I got my camera out, and posed for quite a while. Mimi, it's a praying mantis. I love having them around as they eat other bugs I do not like having around!
