This is a photo challenge to take a picture a week, for 52 weeks. We have multiple contributors posting from around the world on the same theme by Sunday night. The weekly themes are listed at the bottom of the page. Enjoy!

Fall

There's a place not far from San Diego called Bates Nut Farm where they grow pumpkins, have hay rides, a corn maze, and other fun family activities.  I took a few hours off and headed on out for a picture.

Rule of thirds

Walking around manhattan yesterday I couldn't get inspired.  Then for some reason this bright orange flag called my name.  So I made it fit into my rule of thirds theme.

Rule of Thirds

Not sure if I've got this right. I took about 60 photos this week. This felt closest to what I wanted. I very much appreciated the blog taking me to places in the city I hadn't been to before.

The green grass will soon be gone.  Replaced by snow.....

Spending my birthday at our nation's capital with my mom and daughter. Beautiful day! Just too bad nothing gets accomplished in this building.

Rule of Thirds

James organized a fund raiser for childhood cancer at a local market.  Friends and family sold "Luke's Lollies" and cancer bracelets and brought in donations of over $600.00!  James took this photo of one of the buckets of lollies.

Here is my leading lines image... I have been really busy this week with school holidays- so not the best photo! Have a great week! Em

Last night's sunset in Montauk.

Rule of Thirds

was really spoiled for subject matter this week as we are at our safari camp in the Ruaha National Park,
way south west of Dar es Salaam. Took dozens of photos (actually no, 445 0n day 1!!!) but chose this one. Hope it conforms to Rule of Thirds.

Something new in the windows of Bloomingdale's this week, just a little launch I've been working on...

Rule of thirds

I took this photo at a nearby market. They want 35.00 dollars for a giant pumpkin. I will not be buying one.

Spectacular sunset last night!

(Love the possibilities of this theme-- I use rule of thirds ALL the time.)

Rusty

I reallly enjoyed playing with the focus on this one. Didn't capture as much of my rusty Sam Adams Oktoberfest as i hoped but but this project is teaching me so much about framing, focus etc and is been great fun so far. Now if I could just learn to post before Sunday night...!

Rust/Rusty

Walking on the Highline in NYC today, I spotted lots of options for rust covered objects. But then discovered this huge art installation of rusty squares covering the side of a building, and decided this was my favorite.

Rusty

I tried to compete with Janet and her three themes in one.  Rusty, shallow depth of field and leading lines.  I have no idea where this little can came from but maybe it will be used for the wood.

Rusty

Dillon spotted this car on the side of the road. He's a big fan of the show American Pickers and thought this would be a perfect find for the show.

Rusty

James and I could not resist posting this photo of his cousin, Madeline.  She has rusty colored hair and gets more adorable by the minute.

Rusty

Everything is covered in rusty red dust up here in Karratha. The pilbara is an iron ore hotspot and the red ore rock dust gets over everything- I feel sorry for mum who washes her WHITE bed sheets and hangs them outside to dry! This picture shows just how red the dust is!

A rusty cleat at a local boatyard.

This is my favorite outdoor chair I use for camping and/or at home.  It has seen better days, but I still love it!

Rust/Rusty

This is an old tractor that is on the front lawn of a home I pass on my way to the gym each day. I was wondering if I was going to get in trouble for trespassing while trying to snap this photo!  Luckily, I don't think anyone saw me!

Rust/Rusty

I found myself walking at our local park today looking for rust. I went to the park zero times last year and because of the blog I am now up to six times (so far) this year. Thank you!!!

Rust/Rusty

This week's project was not too difficult for me....I was able to choose my subject from many!!
I took a stroll round our village, Matipwili, and finally chose this picture.
The people living in this house would consider themselves lucky not to have a thatched roof!

Rust/Rusty

Two in a row but how could I not take a photo of this gorgeous butterfly with rusty coloured wings!

Rust/Rusty

Pam, I found a band picture to fit into the theme this week, and it isn't a rusty instrument!  The uniforms the band wears are getting old.  This shako (what the hats are called) needs a new strap as the buckle is rusting away.

Rusty

I spotted this abandoned boat anchored in the harbor.  I wonder what its story is?

Rusty

Just a mile or so from my home are the remains of the old Stage Coach stop from the 1880's.
I knew I'd find plenty of rust.....

HERE is one of my old blog entries on the Stage Coach Stop if you are interested in learning more.
