Wood/Wooden

Made from re cycled dhow (traditional sailing boat) wood this sofa, photographed with out its cushions, is very heavy and solid. It was made by Nicola, my niece, Jocelyn's niece and Gems' cousin! She has a fantastic workshop in Dar es Salaam (and now Zambia) making all types of furniture and wooden artefacts all from recycled timber. All our camps are furnished by her. The business is named "Nzito' which means heavy in Kiswahili.....very appropriate.

  2. Any of these recycled, handmade pieces would fetch quite a price here in the US. Reclaimed wood is the popular thing here now.
