Tried not to mess with the lighting on this one because I liked how the festive lights turned out.
This is a photo challenge to take a picture a week, for 52 weeks. We have multiple contributors posting from around the world on the same theme by Sunday night. The weekly themes are listed at the bottom of the page. Enjoy!

Something that makes me smile
This year we decided to create some new christmas memories. We traveled with friends to the Bahamas and spent Christmas on the beach. No cooking, no cleaning, no tree, no gifts. It made us all smile! And as I said in my first post of the year: Happiness is... Sunshine and blue skies!
Something that makes me smile
Some of our West coast family was in for Christmas. Along with a few of the NY family members, James' grandpa (my dad-lower right of the photo) took us on a tour of his childhood in Brooklyn. One of the stops was the original Nathan's in Coney Island. Delicious!

Something That Makes You Smile
Something that makes you smile!
Other people smiling! Especially these guys. This blog gave me lots to smile about this year. Thanks everyone for joining us on the ride. Most of you we will see on Flickr next week!
Something that makes me Smile
We are staying in England with our family. This is a picture of our granddaughter, Abi's, bedroom.
It brings back wonderful memories of our own children and …..makes me smile!

Something that makes me smile by Janet
My family is always something that makes me smile but after SIX DAYS of no power and still counting, this week it will have to be the Hydro trucks. Brought in by other towns and cities, they are trying to restore our power.
Something that makes you smile
It makes me smile when I see little ones, like our eleven month old granddaughter, finding the wrapping paper far more interesting than the present!
something that makes you smile
Please meet my children and their very significant others, all together, healthy and happy on Christmas morning. I know, a little cheesy and very sentimental and most of the time they DO make me smile. And thanks to the generator, the light is ON! Now that makes me smile!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
be merry
Thank you for allowing me to post a little late on this one. I am one of the lucky ones who's power has been restored (Jan is still stumbling in the dark!), although we've lost a few appliances,
I'm guessing due to power surge. No worries, we had lots to "be merry" about including the kids ornaments that come out every year as well as our peanut family made by my son when he was in kindergarten. Amazing after 23 years that only one peanut has ever fallen off...

no, I didn't loose the peanut!

chocolate peppermint candy cane brownies
my last post of the year :(
I chose this because I feel as though I have come a long way taking pictures of food and Project 52 is the reason for that.
I am sad this is over and I am really happy that we will continue through to the next year.

Something that makes me smile
A candy box that was under the tree, made in USA by my granddaughter for me.
It is flying to California tomorrow.
Something that makes me smile.
My funny poodle dog loves opening up her Christmas presents, and it always makes me smile to watch her!
Something that makes me smile
Well I'm about to get pretty sappy, so bear with me. At casual glance this looks like some computers and a notebook, but here are four reasons why this photo makes me smile:
1. This is my son's equipment all set up to run the lighting for our church's Christmas Eve production.
2. It means he is home from college and we are a complete family again.
3. It shows he is giving his time and talents to serve others.
4. And it's Christmas!
Yep. This photo makes a mom smile.

Uncle Carl playing the role of the Silly Farmer for the grandkids. There's no place I'd rather spend Christmas than Easley Downs, our family farm in Halifax, VA.

Something that makes me smile
This is Rosie. She makes us smile. She is one of my mom's dogs. Part basset hound part who knows what. She is a big lap dog who was dumped on the side of the road as a puppy. My dad found her half dead of starvation and they nursed her back to health with the idea of finding a good home for her. That was 2 years ago. I think Rosie is staying.
